Principal
Mr. Chris MacKeown, has worked with Panhandle ISD since 2016 as a teacher and coach. During that time, he has coached football, basketball, track, and tennis. Chris is a stellar leader and has a background in Arena League football where he has worked for team owners such as John Elway, Deion Sanders, Pat Bowlen, and Stan Kroenke. Chris has an undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Toledo (OH) and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Dayton (OH). Dr. John Sherrill, Superintendent of Schools, shared "The teachers, students, and the community well like Chris. His leadership on and off the field is impeccable. He sees the good in each and every child and is eager to create avenues for success for all of our students." Mr. Mackeown shares that his desire for Panhandle High School is to "continue to grow the outstanding academic success and achievements and produce a school environment that is safe and civil, where all children feel respected. by and connected to a staff that is mentally healthy and positive." Mr. Mackeown concluded by saying. "grew up in the Dayton, Ohio area; but I love Panhandle. To me, Panhandle is my home."
